Often a skincare product concept is born simply from the fact that the innovator creating the product needs something that addresses their own skin concerns, and what they require is unavailable on the market; thus inspiring them to make their own. For the co-founder and director of Bali Body, Laura Foley wasn’t able to find a suitable product for her sensitive and eczema prone skin, encouraging her to develop her own blend of natural oils, leading to the creation of brand Bali Body.
Laura and fiancé David have expanded the Bali Body brand with 6 body oils: 3 with SPF6, 3 without SPF yet fragrant with coconut, cacao and watermelon; a moisturizing lotion, an SPF15 sunscreen; and new to the family, a BB cream with SPF15 available in shades natural or tan.
This brand has formed a cult following on Instagram, with their bronzed wanderlust feed where you just want to drink up and join the journey no matter what’s being sold!
This is how I came across Bali Body and being a huge fan of natural body products containing coconut oil I had to order me some of that liquid gold!!
I purchased the Bali Body tanning oil / Body oil which comes in a convenient beach bag size of 110ml bottle. It’s jam-packed with organic and natural Coconut Oil, Grape Seed Oil, Olive oil, Jojoba and Vitamin E goodness that not only delivers skin nourishment but is sensitive towards acne, eczema and psoriasis; helping to calm inflamed skin whilst containing anti-aging and firming properties. Bali Body is all wrapped up in a delicious soft scent of toasted coconut and marshmallows. Do not be put off by the small bottle as a little goes a long way and I do love compact packaging, it encourages you to take it with you, making it travel-friendly for your cosmetic case.
How you use this product is totally up to you. I like to use it at the end of the day before leaving the beach to melt away the dry salty residue on my skin, highlighting my tan with a soft youthful glow. It’s also my after shower go-to from my décolletage to my toes, even rubbing the last little residue into my cuticles and ends of hair.
If you’re outdoors enjoying the sun, I would suggest using it in combination with an SPF to avoid overexposure.
I was going to write this blog post once I had the chance to try the whole Bali Body range, but I was so excited with this product fulfilling my expectations, I couldn’t wait to share this with you. There may be a follow up post in the future once I work my way thru the rest of this incredible range.
As Summer comes to an end at least we know we can take a little of it with us all year round, in bottle form anyway!
